it only takes one customer to have a bad run and it all starts.
to me it sounds like opperator error!
my uncle bought one of the first VL commodores and it was the biggest
lemon there was, holden wouldnt believe him so after 6months of
replacements holden gave him a new one.
the point is.....
every thing has its faults, nothing is perfect.

I cant see how the same thing would fail on 4 different vehicles, and Land Rover not be able to find the fault. I am not defending Land Rover, but it sounds to me like Land Rovers claim of something he has interfering with the electronics mightnt be far wrong. One vehicle you could say "Oh well, luck of the Draw" but 4, one of which was a RRS, there is something more to that story.
I remember a story on ACA back when the VS Commodore was new. This guy bought a VS Ute brand new and with in 6 months the whole car had been replaced peice by piece nearly. He started the website www.drivealemon.com or something like that and after the story on ACA i think Holden finally came to the party. Electronics are bound to fail. Matt

its a common fault no matter what he drives.....
there is a nut loose behind the wheel....!!!
it is obviously something he is doing wrong that is upsetting the cars he drives....
if it happened to all the cars...or lets even say a small percentage of D3's...
it obvious there is a problem with the car...but since it is only happening to the ones he drives....need i say more....?
but if you were the dealer.....how would you politely tell your new customer that he is breaking your product....
and if they have an electronic handbrake maybe he is not using it like he is meant to and simply just putting a fault on the computer which can easily be reset....no damage or parts required......

I agree, it has to be driver error, if it wasn't don't you think they ( L/Rover) would have done a recall by now like other makes of vehicles have in the past.
My father had a 500 SL Merc that had 3 recall notices on it so it can happen with any vehicle.

You may have an unusual run of bad luck or LR are right and your a problematic driver that can't use a hand brake properly either way I'm glad your stuck over there in moaning land ..with nothing better to do than create an elaborate web page of negativity..wife not giving over huh?"

All said and done, I think this bloke may be a bit of a whinger and he is doing something that is causing the problem or something in the area he is travelling is interferring. . Having said that it is possible that LR have a problem they need to sort. Lets face it LR do not have the best build quality record. When I had my Disco after clutch work under warranty a nasty rattle developed above 80kph. It went back about 6 times and the dealer reckoned it was not audible or had fixed itself. This was crap and was one of the reasons I got rid of it as it was very distracting even with the stereo on. The Fender has now developed a similar rattle after having a master cylinder and slave cylinder replaced although this one sounds like it is coming from on top of the gearbox.
I would hate to be this guy if what he is saying is true. It would be interesting to see what the next couple of thousand miles on all four of these vehicles reveals. Unlikely we will ever know. This is the downside of all the electrical systems in cars now. Anything goes wrong it has to be trucked to the dealer. At least with a cable or linkage hand brake you can just disconnect it to get out of trouble.

IF he has something that is causing interference (eg his Blackberry) and hence triggering the faults, then sorry but I believe that is a Land Rover problem. In this day and age they should not be building something, that is that susceptible to RFI.

OK what the hell is a Blackberry, and I agree with Bushie.
Having said that, if there is a problem I would imagine LR would have recalled the vehicles.
If you have a look at the list of recalls LR have, and there are heaps of them, you will see that LR recall vehicles without have to be threatened by the authorities and most of the recalls are for the most trivial of things, thing that the other car makers just don’t care about.
If the truth be known, this Fwit bought his LR and then saw the Audi and decided to pull a stunt to get his money back so he could buy the Audi.
Just my thoughts on the subject.

A good point, i never looked at it that way. I suppose it could be said that if it was the "Blackberry" interfering with the systems, then land rover should be taking steps to work out how to rectify the problem. Its unlikely that 4 vehicles would have the same fault so quickly like that, so it most probably is something interfering and should be fixed because i imagine others might be having similar problems.
