Afternoon brains trust.

So ive finally done Option B. Much easier than i thought. Took about an hour, would be much quicker next time. I got my group buy nanocom so faults reset and im away. Went to the snow on Sunday kept trying to find ice and slippery bits just to hear that reassuring grind.

Now i need to do the mod so that when i engage my cdl, I dont get the amigo's back. Ive looked at the post several times but i cant find it. Anyone with a clear idea where its hiding? I'd love to read the posts and do the mod.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm... Why on earth did Ritters put two sticks in mine???? It's nuts, and none of the instructions on the knobs are correct.:censored:

Hi John, Probably done on price. The Proper CDL kits are quite expensive. Used ones are rare, and go quickly .
I've seen some "T bar" Shifter like levers in the past. They look shocking. There was another mob selling and installing modified Wiper motor CDL shifters, they failed when mud and water killed them.
Ashcroft do a CDL kit that looks factory.
Cheers, Mario

So does Les Richmond. CDL kit (http://www.lrautomotive.com.au/contents/en-us/d661.html) It's still pretty pricey though.

That probably explains it, but it looks ridiculous and is clumsy to use. Hmm. Just looked at the Les Richmond one. $950? Think I'll out up with it a bit longer....

Now i need to do the mod so that when i engage my cdl, I dont get the amigo's back.

the 3 amigo's only come on when you turn the ignition off & back on with CDL engaged.
they will go away when you have the ignition off & dis-engage the CDL.

I left mine this way, so when going up a Steep greasy hill you can can use the CDL with traction control.
If i get stuck half way up a hill & need to reverse down, i dont want the ABS to work, its bloody dangerous,it may be good on a road going forward.
but when a wheel starts to slide/skid going backwards in the bush the ABS releases the brake on that wheel,
the very wheel/s stopping you sliding backwards out of control....not a good feeling.

So if im stuck & need to go backwards in a dangerous place, i turn the ignition off then back on with CDL engaged, this disables the ABS & im in control, not the ABS..
Some will not agree, but have found this from experience....

The function of turning the traction/abs off is for use in sand. The brakes will slow your wheel speed too much and you sink and overheat and wear out your pads/discs.
Something along those lines anyway. The more learned among us will be able to explain it better.
