Well we put this in the camper last week with the help of Phil (Discowhite) and tested it out up at the Watagans, works great, just like showering at home.

Bosch continuous gas hot water system.

how much did that set you back?

$324 at Camec/RVaccessories was a factory second, normally they are around the $450 to $500 mark, there are others apart from Bosch but the Bosch is better as it is gas only no power required.

looks like a good bit of gear...

it does use a couple of batteries doesnt it....(just to ignite the burner)....

that is a much better idea than the heat exchange units that run on engine heat....

you dont have to wait for the engine to heat up before you can have a hot shower....
im not saying diesels take forever to warm up.......

.....MUCH!!! 8O

Is that one of those heaters where the water pressure turns over the igniter?

If so do you have problems with it starting up?

Cheers

I have just bought the coleman version, was going to buy the primus as it is smaller but got the coleman at the right price with all the neccessary accessories. Have not tried one out yet but the demo model worked well. Instant hot water and if you want to hit the high heat button and instant boiling water for cuppas (have to hold it down), Runs on cartridges or hooks straight up to lpg cylinders. At least this way it is portable not stuck onthe car and as long as you have gas and water get a hot shower. The old solar showers were great but greedy relations used to speed back to camp and pinch them, that used to really **** me off as we were the only ones who used to take them but always seemed to get ripped off.

OK no power required it's all gas and has a pilot light, lights the same way as a heater push in the button hold for 30sec and press the ignite button, it lights first go, if you remember to hold the button in for the correct time, be impaitent like Kerry

If anyone remembers the old gas showers and baths where the unit and plumbing was inside, well it's similar.

No storage tank as Tony says it's instant, has an exchanger.

It's installed in the front of our trailer, we have a section at the front called a walkin, also our camper has 695mm high sides.

I'm looking at putting gas hotwater in my van have seen the coleman units and they don't look to bad, but how do you think that they would compare to the full install units like the one in the trailer???
