Got a good price for new Monroe shocks.
Front 16-0198
Rear unknown, as none listed, for SWB.
My other series 3 has 16-0208 on the rear.
Anyone using them and confirm the above rear, is ok for SWB.
Thanks.

Shane, front and rear on SWB will interchange, 109's have different rear shocks.
Cheers, Mick.

Thanks Mick.
original front and rear have different shroud length and parts number.
original rears are different length, longer, I thought.
You saying NEW Monroe's rear and front can be same part number, so the same ????

Yes they will fit.
SHOCK ABSORBER (REAR) S2/2A/3 88" heavy duty up to 1984 & S1 107/109 heavy duty 1954 onwards & (FRONT) ex-military S2/2A/3 109" up to 1984 (http://www.roverparts.com.au/inc/sdetail/1693)
From an online parts catalogue.
Shane maybe the rear have a bit more travel, hence the above fitting the front of an ex-military 109, as the ex-military (Aust.) have longer shackles.

I have a full set here from my 2A 88, so I will have a play with them today and see if the rear extend out further or if there is any other difference that I can pick up.
Cheers, Mick.

Had a look on my other series, with Munroe's fitted.
Found the number on the rear and took some measurements, as the axle straps are fitted.
The Front is different to the rear, but will call to town Monday with the new found rear numbers.
Once sorted, with post the numbers.

Two inches difference when fully compressed.
Ten and a half inches between the centre of the eye, versus twelve and a half inches.
Cheers, Mick.

Thanks Mick.
Got the numbers off the rear shocks, ( Monroe's ) fitted to my other SWB
when I got the new ones , they were 2 inches short of the bump stop when fully compressed.
Spoke to my mate a Repco, where they came from and is going to look into it AGAIN, as his mate is at Monroe.
Getting closer to sorting itout.
