Hi all,

I have to repair or replace the rear door on our 2014 110 wagon. The back door has been pushed in courtesy of a pole... The spare tire (bracket) has compressed and creased the door, and although it still opens and closes, it has sprung the inside of the window seal, and looks ugly!

I'm not sure weather to repair through a panel beater or look for a replacement door.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ps I'm in Vic
Cheers

Hi Aldan,

Sorry to hear that, what a bummer!! See if you can pick up a complete door form these guys in SA:

For Dismantling / Wrecking - Triumph Rover Spares South Australia (http://www.triumphroverspares.com.au/page.asp?parentid=5&parent2id=17)

cheers

Legend, thanks mate!
I gave them a call, they don't have Fuji white in stock and they are not cheap, but I thought that might be the case anyway... I might have to buy it and get it sprayed white.

Cheers

Aldan,

Give these guys a try in the UK:

UK MADE NEW DEFENDER REAR DOORS (http://www.sp-4x4.com/DEFENDER_REAR_DOORS_s/107.htm)

Genuine is about $500 AUD plus shipping. I have been quoted $240 to ship by UPS 2 front doors, so this could be a much cheaper option even allowing for the fact that you will need to get it painted. Heated rear window glass is also very reasonable.

Is the frame damaged or just the skin? If just the skin, can't it be repaired? Just wondering...

Skin is damaged definitely but not sure about the frame, I'll have to investigate further!

The skins has a big crease in it, and I'm not sure if it could be pressed out, I reckon it might have been stretched a bit beyond repair.... But it's worth a closer look!

Fair enough.
I wonder if installing a spare wheel carrier would reduce the chances of it happening again, as well as of the door warping.

Not many panel beaters will repair things these days, just replace with a new one.

Definitely try some of the UK suppliers, you might be surprised what you can get a new one for, including shipping.
