Hi Everyone, Colleagues, gentlemen, ladies and random viewers..

Just thought I'd post up some images of the tray and canopy I have just recently completed fitting to the 1996 130 crew cab.

The tray and canopy are as labelled, an Hockney-Alcan modular measuring 2050 by 1800. the canopy is a 'Lowline' steel frame alloy skin. These items were originally fitted to a Rodeo extra cab- and being a painters vehicle yes there is paint everywhere...

I managed to convince the GF to paint and insulate the inside of the canopy frame. There is a rack that was fitted to the canopy but it now has to be fettled to attach- too long, lots of surface rust. It is an original Lowline item. this make seems ok - with evidence of attention to joint welds and frame strength and good access.

I considered making a frame and canvas canopy for the old Duratray originally fitted to the car but elected to do otherwise. I can always paint and modify this frame and tray- canvas is a bit delicate after exposure to weather and then there's cost....

All up this cost $1370. $1K for the tray and canopy delivered eBay special ( I waited a while for something to come up), extra to convert mounting arrangements with 100x50 3mm wall C section (longitude) and 6mm wall alloy front width section. I couldn't use the original mounts nice as they seem- these were not up to the job of flex and load bearing on this chassis by my judgment.

Before anyone comments yes I know I have destroyed my departure angle. This is intended to be overland touring arrangement. I still have 'some' departure angle if I take the towball out....

I was also given a lot of fasteners and alloy right angle brackets by the GF son whom fits solar panels. I can say how immensely useful these were to the job. Now I have to figure out how to repay the favour.

from past experience I would put some more stiffeners under the aluminium c channel. normally there is a bracket near the back of the tray that supports the end of the channel. current config has them canterlevered a long way so if they bend it gets embarrassing.

Second thought. Another length of C channel bolted back to back. Pickup from the 3rd set of bolts from the back extending to the back.
hope this helps.
