That is not a upgrade that is a giant step backwards:confused:

Welcome to the forum gotshot, perhaps if you could tell us why you would do this we could offer useful alternatives or information.

As rangie posts you would need a good reason for doing this, e.g. there are simpler ways of getting rear disc brakes onto a County :)

both front and rear diffs, i'm just afraid of the difficulty involved with getting replacements when my diffs break

The 85 County has stronger CV's and axles than the Disco front end - the diff centre is actually the same in both. Better off repairing yours if/when it fails.
The County has a Salisbury type in the rear and is much stronger than the rear in the Disco which is basically the same diff as in the front. You can buy disc brake conversion kits for the Salisbury or pick up a later model one with the discs on it already.

Front diff is pretty much the same as the D1. County has 10 spline version, late D1 was 24 spline and I think the 200tdi D1 was 10 spline.
I have a 24 spline D2 front center in my county but have fitted later axles to suit.

Rear diff on a County is Salisbury type. They don't have many issues apart from leaking pinion seals. Later version seal and mud slinger fixes that in my experience.

Or buy a rear disc brake axle from the army auctions.
