Hi guys, can't find a thread on this one.
My 08se alarm started going off for no reason a couple of weeks ago.
Once every couple of days.
Now twice or more every day.
Has anyone had the same problem.
Is there any sonic detectors inside the car.
What is there to check?
Thanks for reading.

My mate with a D3 had the bonnet switch causing this. Water ingress into the switch due to its location and orientation.

As your looking into the bonnet from the front, left hand bonnet catch has the bonnet sensor. I removed and bridged mine out as it was faulty and setting the alarm off at random times

Yep, found it where you said.
Guess what. Mine was unplugged. Found the other end tied back on the loom with a ball of insulation tape around the end. removed the tape and low and behold, a crasty split pin shoved across the pins.
Cleaned it up, made it look a bit better. Got rid of the corrosion.
Replaced the bundle of tape. See how we go.
Thanks for the replies

I had this issue a year or 2 ago on my 08se also. As mentioned, it was the bonnet switch. A very cheap (Jaguar) component and easy to replace...

Went back to going off once a week, so soldered the wires together.
No alarm now for 3 weeks.
Fingers crossed
Cheers
Still have my Permagrin
