Anyone know if any aftermarket inertia reel seat belts are available for a Defender TD5 2000? Maybe Klippan or similar and if so the product numbers. Mine is getting a bit frayed from getting jammed in the door latch and with Repco having 30% off for RAC members this weekend may be worth taking advantage of.

Rod,
I see you have overcome the Holden belt being shorter by relocating it higher up, Could you post up a pic of the bracing behind ?

Hi Deejay, thats the standard mounting place for s3 inertia reel. All i did was unbolt what was there and bolt in the new belt. I do have a pic of the brace. Its just an aluminium plate spot welded behind the tub. The plate is the same thickness as the rest of the tub, so its basicly double thickness where the reel part is bolted on and fixed with a bolt and nut and of course washers. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2017/02/61.jpghttps://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2017/02/62.jpg
I hope this clears it up a bit for you.

Ps you need to get the seatbelt to suit a sedan with bucket seats so u get the hard stalk. The stalk comes in different lengths. I got the longer one at 45cm but i have commodore buckets fitted to my s3.

They have the extra point on them coz they r mounted so far back. If u have a good look u can see the extra mount point. The stalks are right tho. I will go see him coz i used to work for him and get the right part number or the listing number.

Ok the number is K1513 to suit hq sedan with bucket seats. This has a 400mm stalk. Its an almost perfect fit in the s3. Not sure where the reel bolts onto a defender.

I dont know where defender belts mount but i assume they mount in the same place as s3. The only thing i could think that would be different would be where the reel is mounted.

I recently had to replace the buckles on the rear seats in my 1998 130. I was able to buy the exact original buckles from British Off Road. They may have the original belts as well.

No, Defenders ( wagons at least) are mounted down at the rear floor which is lower than a series 3. Funnily enough my series 3 SWB is mounted level with the seat box top which is a bit lower than the LWB. I have a collection of "too short" defender belts that I got from a car wrecker. Male parts were matching but the webbing too short.
