Hoping someone has already found the solution.
I have recently bought the iSi 4x4x2 bike carrier (iSi Modular Bicycle Carrier - Extreme Duty 4x4x2 Bicycle Carrier (http://www.isi-carriers.com/4x4x2/4x4x2_bike-carrier.html)). A big thank you to previous posters about the iSi carrier.
Now, does anyone know how the bejeezus do I stop the reversing sensors going off in a D4 TDV6 MY12?
thanks
Ian

Easiest way would probably be to create a dummy trailer plug with a resistive load & just plug it in when you use the bike carrier. That way the car "sees" a trailer & disables the sensors, but leaves the camera working.

The bikes on the back of my d4 obscure the tail lights so I made a small tail light bar on the bottom of the rack which plugs onto the trailer light socket. It duplicates the rear lights and also fools the car into thinking it has a trailer. 2 issues solved in one go....

Wich button Mike????
You can turn down the volume using the wireless' volume knob.
Chris has the best answer, the lawmen in WA are cracking down on pushbike carriers obscuring lights/rego.You can buy a boat trailer lightbar from BCF etc wich will fix your problem if its not a LED variety.

The button circled in blue. The one I can't see on your picture.
Why don't you have one? You have the rear sensors don't you?

I know how to turn my sensors off, want Mike to realise all are not the same before he posts as if you are a nuffie[bigrolf][bigrolf][bigrolf][bigrolf][bigrolf]
I guess you guys don't have the touch screen,if you have the touchscreen you have an option in there to play with the sensors.
Just as easy to turn the volume down ,on my variant[wink11][wink11][wink11]

MY14+ doesn't have the button if rear sensors only. I think full surround sensors get the button? As Andrew says, turn the sensors alarm down with the volume knob instead.

That's interesting. MY13 HSE has the button and the touchscreen to turn sensors & camera on or off. I didn't realise that some models had no button for the rear sensors.

You can turn them off via the touch screen Chris.Ive never bothered, the volume switch is easier.

Thanks to everyone who posted yesterday evening. I was out farewelling a colleague after 21 years in the Air Force. We were concerned if we didn't send him off properly he may come back! [wink11]
You lucky button people. I tried pushing the button to the right of the hazard lights button (see picture below) — but no joy.
I think in order of my capability:
a. buy a light bar
b. build a "dummy trailer plug with a resistive load" if mr_squiggle is kind enough to explain how [bighmmm]
c. 'build' a "small tail light bar on the bottom of the rack, where 'build' means same as a. above!

One other thing you could try is covering the sensor.
In a thread a long while ago people were having trouble with wheel carriers setting off the sensors. One solution was to cover half the sensor and turn it so that it didn't "see" the wheel carrier.

You can "shadow" the sensors by sticking trimmed down plastic floor protector dots (the ones you put on the ends of chair legs etc.) over the sensors. Bunnings sell 19mm clear dots which I use to shadow the Mitch hitch on my D3 Madico 19mm Clear Round Protec Surface Savers - 10 Pack | Bunnings Warehouse (https://www.bunnings.com.au/madico-19mm-clear-round-protec-surface-savers-10-pack_p3970296)
Cut them in half, or smaller and adjust until you get the right amount of cover. I didn't do it myself yet but I'm thinking of fine tuning my covers (I currently have them cut in half) by using repositionable duct tape to make the adjustment and then trimming new covers to match.

Pov spec (mine). There's no internal way to shut them down in those.

When they fitted our rear wheel carrier, Opposite Lock covered the 'second in from the driver's side' sensor and we're having no problems.

You need a couple of resistors [emoji6]

Get a couple of these resistors from any decent auto accessories store and wire in parallel with your indicator lights. I have two mounted on the draw bar of my trailer and picked up the wiring in the back of the plug. If you are running a trailer board, I'd just mount them on the back of the board.

This was my effort from some time ago (taken from another thread).
Was just a quick effort to bang something together for a weekend trip away. Cheap as chips to make, just have to think through the wiring layout.
