Just changed oil in my landrover perentie 1996 but to my dismay At least 3 ltrs ended up spilling out of A hose attached to a reservoir near the oil filters,is this an overfill safety?or did I fill engine to quick?
does any one know
cheers

.... A hose attached to a reservoir near the oil filters ...
I'm thinking that a quick snapshot or three from your phone may help us understand what you are referring to.
No safety overfill devices that I am aware of -
1. What does your engine dipstick indicate ?
2. Where did you fill - the rubber stopper in the rocker cover is the correct spot :-)

That would be the breather hose from the rocker cover. You must have had the rocker cover full for it to go into the breather - sounds like you definitely have filled it too quick! How did you fill it - with a power hose setup?

No filled it with a funnel only, wasn't fast at all but funnel sealed the oil hole well
