intermittent wiper setting

Hi all my 2002 discovery doesn't like the intermittent wiper setting if I turn the wiper to this nothing happens although I can hear a click under the dash. If I turn the wipers to the on position they wait a second or two then work and if I then switch back to intermittent wipers they work to. This has been an ongoing issue for sometime any help would be great and much appreciated thanks Phil.

Sounds like you need to clean the contacts on the switch , its a common problem , should take about an hour
