Hi Dion
Have you tried supercrap????
May be worth a look, should only need to measure both your open and closed lengths.
In our falcoon wagon and now our Trytoo we make up a brace from wood and just stick it in when open,at least the wind wont slam it down on your head.

I just bought a set from a strut manufactuer on eBay. Figured they'd be better than the supercrap ones. $54 incl delivery, can't complain!
I'm 6'8" tall so really want to keep that tailgate up nice and high 8)

They generally all come from a similar supplier and the Supercrap ones are as good as any other.

Being thinking of that but not sure to put them as there is no support on the wings of the bonnet  may need to look at the strenghing bars and the fire wall?
