Is it necessary to fit an OEM towing wiring loom to set up a P38 for towing? IIRC the P38 was the first Landrover that needed the towing loom to talk to the BECM. But I'm sure I've seen one wired up for towing using the old "connect the wires to the lights" trick.
FYI, I have introduced a young family friend to the joys of P38 ownership (although I purchased a P38 in NZ from her Granny a few years ago, so she certainly knows a bit about them).
The car came without a towing kit and she needs one.

When I fitted my towbar, I just wired it to the existing wiring as per RAVE. Too bad you're not closer, I have my towbar in the Markets.

Thanks Ron,
I'll be back in Sydney later this year. I'll pass your ad on to the owner.

The plug with the indicators, brake park light etc is behind the drivers side rear panel.
A reverse feed, and 10A fused feed is on the passenger side.

In my MY96 there is a plug on each side with the main one being on the drivers side and the left side has reversing light connections ;)
