Is it possible to replace the rubber coupling with the usual uni joint, as I have already replaced one not long ago and this one is starting to crack aroung the bolts. What is the advantage of these?

they make the drive train smoother.
odd you should crack one quickly... you do heavy loads?

Bet you have a lift. You just get the diff yolk and driveshaft from a Range Rover. Wreckers will have but watch the spline wear. For new shafts I found Out of Town 4WD to be good.

Yes it is lifted, and heavy loads not really.
I take it the RR is about the same year level for replacement.

Well I am not sure but I think any LT230 Range Rover which means prior to 89 as they went to BW then.
But I think you have to be more careful re the diff yolk. Some are fine spline(later) and some are coarse.
If you get new parts talk to who you buy them from. Graeme Cooper have done this many times and Out of Town would know also.

Did you happen to notice if the markings on the new one had GKN on it? There are some cheap non original available which do not last.
