I need to get my aircon checked out. The fan is working, but it's just not blowing cold air. Anyone know of someone Brisbane northside that is familiar with the old Defender aircon?

Few things you can check yourself
- is compressor clutch engaging?
- if engaged is one pipe getting hotter than the other. (Check check with back of hand )
- is there power to compressor clutch
- are there any visible leaks - if it had dye put in last time.
- are all the relay terminals clean and fully home
No doubt one of the fridgees on here will tell you which pins to short out on the pressure switch to over ride a low gas level.
Finally good results with hychill 30 in Defa systems as the refrigerant.

Hi Ranga
I just had a new compressor, new receiver dryer and new gas put in my 300tdi by Tom who runs Koolar Air on Newman Road at Geebung. He does great work. Knows Defenders and can do anything custom.
My 300 tdi air con has never run better.
oh and PS.....I finally bought a bike....but not the BMW. Ended up with a KTM 450 EXCF

Ranga have a chat to Andrew at Betta Electrical and Air Con on Snook St,
He's not afraid of Defenders and sorted the aircon on one of my previous utes.

Redcliffe Car Electrics (who do the sparky/aircon work for MR Automotive) sorted it out. Main problem was a rub hole in a pipe. I now have cold knees again 😋

I had a mobile a/c business round to re-gas my aircon & after he discovered zero gas in the system and a subsequent pressure test/fault finding excercise, I was told the only place the leak could be occurring was the evaporator. As he couldn't access the evaporator without stripping the unit from the car, he left it for me to try acquire a new evaporator. I have trawled the forum and Googled for hours trying to find a replacement evaporator for what I believe is an ACM unit. The evaporator shroud has a sticker saying its a Sanden unit with a possible model number of ZD-902B. I'm hoping some erudite gentlemen of this forum may shed some light as to where I may find a replacement. Many thanks in anticipation.
