Hey All,

Yesterday had most of the GCLRO over at my place for a recovery session/ excuse for beer and a BBQ. Great day was had even with the wind, rain and squalls 8O , but in the afternoon when it had calmed down some of us took off into the front paddock to do a bit of bush bashing and sliding in the mud.....and........well............I dinged the D3 when I slid back into a tree  . So later I will post some pics of the day and the ding 8O ,

Whoopsy.

First ding is always felt the most - soon you'll be flying through the Lantana (maybe not).

PS Hope your driving is better than your camera work (where's the focus)

Cheers mate

Hello Steve,

Looks like you had a good time.

Pity about the ding, but it's just one of the risks of having a good time!

The tyres wouldn't have helped in the mud, but I read in LROM that if all four wheels are spining evenly, then the traction control may not engage fully as the car doesn't know that it's not moving in the intended direction. Bascially, you need to plant your fott and maybe move the steering wheel bit to get the TC happening.

Probably wouldn't have helped you, but I thought I'd pass it on. The guys at Eastnor found out when driving on snow.

Better tyres would have helped, went and looked at it this arvo really churned it up  Will keep in mind the TC tip for next time. Have driver training this weekend so maybe opp to use.

Yeah still feeling it, bit more bravado yesterday after a few brews, today well still a little 8O , my partner is the one taking it worse, all I hear is how much the car is :? Hopefully pics from Sunday's driver training will be ding free

Anyone got any suggestions for getting out dings??

Sorry mate about the ding https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ In my experience the only cheap way to get dings out is photoshop 8O https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

If all four wheels are spinning evenly then the traction control doesn't need to engage. TC doesn't care which direction the car is moving in.

Twin lockers wouldn't make any difference either. Assuming clearance is ok, then you're out of traction and the solutions are more aggressive tyres, less weight, momentum, airing down or placing something under the tyres to improve traction.

EDIT: forgot to add that switching DSC off would help as the stability control tends to interfere too much when the car slides and it will kill momentum.
