Gents,
Chasing new Rear Disc Rotors for my 110Defender and having troubles determining which ones to get. There seems to be confusion as some sites say 298mm diameter and others say 290mm. Can anyone verify what diameter are the Rotors?
Some sites indicate that the Defender 90 has a rotor diameter of 290mm and the 110/130's have a diameter of 298mm..... What's the go??

Yeah, I'm trying to buy local, that's the problem.... the common size coming up is 290mm in diameter but according to Roverparts website, etc the 110/130 have a larger diameter rotor at 298mm (FTC3846). The one for the Defender 90's come up as " LR017953 FTC1381 (min. thickness 11.7mm)"
9mm difference which I assume is important.....?

Given you have a 110 I’d go on what the web site says.
4mm on the radius......
It would also mean either the diffs would be different between the 90 and 110 and or the plate between the diff and caliper would be different.......I cannot quite picture of the caliper bolts direct to the diff or if there is an adaptor plate.

Yeah, I'm going with the 298mm rotor but I don't have an old one in the shed that I can measure up to confirm.... Problem being is that motor Brake suppliers mainly have the 290mm ones listed and don't have the 298mm ones listed which is a bit strange....
I also checked the offsets and the 2 Rotors have different offsets. The One for the 298mm rotor is 70mm (one for the 110) and 61.5mm for the 290mm rotor
The thickness between the 2 is also different.....

Surely someone will have a rotor sitting on the floor they can measure.

I'm hoping so, but the evidence is pointing more towards the 298mm diameter as there is also differences in the Rotor disc offset and thicknesses between the 2

I have one here from an 02 130, 298 diameter, 59mm overall width from joint face to outside of rotor, 15mm thick. I got mine from Baileys Brake and Clutch, Ipswich.
Cheers,
Mick.

Thanks for that.... interesting that u measured 59mm thickness
From the info I've found, mine should be 70mm BUT they do make a 59mm x 298mm diameter disc.... I can't believe the various parts u get in basically the same vehicle..... here's a list I've found so far off the following website: Empoweredautoparts (https://www.empoweredautoparts.com.au/)

Not sure why the differences as I though ALL Defender models up to the start of the TD5 had the same Salisbury Rear Diff. Unless the SWB 90 model had the Rover Diff in the rear ??
Would like to hear from the experienced Brains Trust as to "why & Where" the differences ??

Defender 90, RRC, Disco1 rear rotors are the same. Defender 110 and 130 rear rotors are the same!
I recall this as i once bought the defender 90 ones for my salisbury and they didn't fit. Wrong offset

The 90 always had a Rover rear end, the same as the D1 and RRC, hence the difference. ;)

Yep, I understand there can be a difference between the 90 and the 110/130 but which Defender has the following:

I ended up ordering the 298mm Diameter & height of 70mm but I have no idea which Defender would run the 298mm & 59mm height??
