Hi all have just purchased a disco 4 airflow snorkel.. now my question is about the pillar mount bracket in the diagram and instructions it doesn’t say anything about the plastic cover on the pillar. The rest is straight forward.. has anyone had anything to do with the airflow snorkel install and if so could u please let me know about it please ..!!
Cheers

There is a post here with some detailed info on the install, i fitted one to my D3 and it was less than straight forward.
I removed the A-pillar trim and drilled a hole and used the supplied plastic plug, then drilled thru the trim. I had trouble with the 2nd hole so just went thru the trim.
There is some cutting of the inner guard supports behind the intake grill and in behind the airbox.

Ok thank you so I do have to cut a slot through the plastic pillar trim all good just nothing mentioned about that .. is the bracket long enough to grab the snorkel once it is mounted to pillar..?? That’s what I thought but just wanted to double check... thanks for your help..
also how did u find the snorkel..?? Looks of good quality..

If it is an LR offering it is not a snorkel, just a raised air intake.
I can supply fitting instructions (PM me) as I fitted one to a D3 shortly after I got the car and only had a problem with the rivnuts on the mudguard (I do not have a rivnut gun and devised a workaround ).

DaveQuality is good, no just drill a small hole in the trim and screw the bracket to it. Bracket will need some bending to line up.

Yeah it the air flow brand so I do just drill hole in plastic trim and put the plugs into the trim and screw bracket onto that...
Thank you for all your help ,

No plugs go into A pillar so screw goes thru the trim and into the plugs.

I have the Safari stylr snorkel. Be aware if you need to drill into the pillar you need a special drill bit-1 per hole as it is hardened steel.

Yes! The steel does eat drill bits that’s for sure. I think I managed one drill across the lot but it was blunt and useless by the end of it

Ok thanks .. just finished installing it now .. I do see what u mean.. don’t want to do to many of the installs as a bit of a pain in the bum.. the problem that got me the most was the flexible pipe and fitting that goes onto airbox.. boy I had some trouble .. but all’s well that ends well..
cheers

Yeah not the easiest accessory i have installed, took me 2 days because i wasnt going to drill any holes until i was 100% sure i had it lined up right, i called airflow who weren't that helpful but another forum member i called was invaluable.

I sent them an email no reply .. if it wasn’t for u I would be still looking at it ..!!! Lol the flex hose needs to be 50mm longer and the a pillar instructions need to be a little more detailed.. but I think I like it .. I will go to super cheap and get some silicone hose I think to replace the one in the kit.. like that silicon turbo hose think off memory it’s blue..
but looks ok I think..
cheers
