Brake master cylinder

Oh Wise Ones,
will it make me cry putting the larger master cylinder into a 1963 petrol 88" 2a that has a smaller one in it (CB style ). Have larger drums on the front and not moving enough fluid to brake properly.
Looks as if the bolt holes won't line up?

Fitting the LWB CB type shouldn't be a problem. I don't have a SWB one here to compare though.

I'm afraid that it may make you cry - the bracket that holds the pedal, and is the bit the master cylinder bolts to, is a different part number for the 88 and 109 - and even worse, has a new pair of numbers after chassis number suffix 'E'. I'm not sure what the difference is, but hole spacing would make sense, seeing the M/Cs are different diameters.

That's what I am hoping, was going open holes on cylinder if needed. Bit worried about the hole in the bracket for the cylinder to sit in, will find out over the weekend.

i have the larger unit in my series ii swb and the lwb 4cyl hubs etc and mine works fine.

i dont recall having to do anything out of the ordinary to get it to work.

it was easier to bleed as a bonus...

As a follow up.. the larger master cylinder fitted with no modification needed. The holes in the bracket were elongated and fit both easily.
The pedal now has a good feel to it, but she pulls up so slowly I might have to take an anchor with me.
