Hi, I have been having issues with shopping falling out the back of the RRS when I open the back door... wishing it had a 2 piece door like my old volvo XC90 (or FFRR, D3/D4) . Anyway I thought I would conjure up a manually deployable shopping-falling-out probability reducer. Just clips on to the load loops, and folds away for easy storage (at least it might if I used countersunk screws on the hinge) . At this stage it only uses 50mm high aluminium, because that's all I could find in right angle at the hardware shop, if it seems to be actually helpful I might increase the height and use a better hinge. Anyone else made something similar? I'm sure JLR could make this accessory and sell it for about $3,590.

Good thinking. You can buy angle that’s about 150x50 that I know of, and I’m sure you could probably get it even bigger if you wanted. You’d need to go to a specifically alloy dealer though. The other 💭 is if all you want to do is extend it a bit, just get some flat plate to rivet/bolt straight to what you already have.

Nice job [thumbsupbig]

They do have solutions, not quite that much though:

Load space retention rails:
VPLGS0171 - Loadspace Rails for Range Rover L405 Sport L494 and Discovery Sport | LR Parts (https://www.lrparts.net/loadspace-retention-kit-for-range-rover-l405-sport-l494-and-discovery-sport-side-to-side-bars.html)

....but you need to have these installed to use the above:
VPLWS0242 - Range Rover Sport L494 Loadspace Rail Rentention Set 5 Seat | LR Parts (https://www.lrparts.net/range-rover-sport-l494-rear-loadspace-side-rails-set-genuine-land-rover-for-5-seat-configuration.html)

A retention net (Like a blind across the back):
VPLWS0206 - Range Rover Sport L494 Load Retention Net | LR Parts (https://www.lrparts.net/range-rover-sport-l494-rear-loadspace-retention-net-genuine-land-rover.html)

A retention net (to go over your 'load' - this one is for the D4 and will just hook on to your tie down points):
Luggage Net Elasticated - EOO500010PVJ - Genuine | Rimmer Bros (https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-EOO500010PVJ)

Thanks SBD4 - This one actually looks promising, I have not noticed this item before, not sure why. ... would have to think about how to store it in the car when not in use.

Edit: I now know why I haven't noticed this before, it is not actually a L494 accessory as far as I can tell, L494 has no holes to hold it in place.

An easier solution, which I have been doing in all my cars over the years, is to buy a non-slip mat for the boot, and then just place 2 ammo boxes there.

The non-slip mat I get from the local hardware store and they cut it to size.
