I would like to make one of these out of my D1 but I am anticipating it would fall foul of ADRs

There are heaps of fairly cheap D1s available and rebuildable, and parts are plentiful.

That’d be a good rig.
Mom sure if you check out their website, it’ll give you some info on how they stack up, and then you can compare and check on the Aust rules and Rey’s to see how hard it would be.

A great idea anyway if you’ve got land and are in need of a Ute.

May as well do a coil spring conversion on a 101 Landrover.
Note the rear tray doesn't have the rear wheel wells going into the load space.
It lacks rear wheel travel...….the front looks OK.
Even a defender HCPU has the rear wheel wells into the load space, or you end up with a very high tray or no rear wheel upwards travel

YES PLEASE!

That would be a great work truck on a rural property. All you would need is a donor vehicle (or 2 ) and someone who can weld. [biggrin]
