Lucas Windscreen Wiper Motor Refurb

Is there anyone in ACT / NSW that can refurbish the independent LUCAS wiper motors as fitted to 1960's Series IIAs? I have attempted to get mine working but each have issues - namely the on / off switch on both is not working correctly (very slack) and one has an electrical short.

I know I could probably run through more of the helpful tutorials online to fix these issues but my preference is to get someone that knows what they are doing!

More importantly it needs to be someone who has access to the spare parts to fix it.
You probably need to find an 'old' auto electrician.

I had the same problem with the wiper motor on my 1960 truck cab and bought a generic after-market version, sold as fitting a Land Rover. However the windscreen base on the older Landy is too thick, rendering the threaded locator around the shaft of the after-market option too short. By chance I was in an autoelectrical shop and noticed they did small motor rewinds so gave them my old one to repair. Apparently if the motor is burnt out (smells burnt) they can't be rebuilt but most other failings can be fixed. The overhaul on mine cost $250 and it looks and works like new. The repair crowd I used was Clay's autoelectrical - unfortunately in Adelaide. But it can be done.

Hi thankyou for your video. Could you tell me what grease you use to lubricate the wiper motor please.

I used what I had on hand, but pref would be a grease that is good with plastic and moisture. Cant remember if it was marine grease or not...
