I am getting my new disco 5 which is coming with 22" wheels. I want to change it for off-road tyres...so was planning to see if the Disco 4 19" wheels with 255/55/19" tyres fit on the new disco 5.

What about a set of Tuff Ant steel rims ?

255/55R19 will lower the drive ratio which is usually undesirable. 20" fitted with 275/55R20 provides quite a few tyre options.

They don’t fit new RRS so doubt if will fit new Disco.

Better off ordering with the 20inch wheels if you can, a lot more tyre options.
the Tuff Ants do have 18 inch Steelies on the water, and Gordon has the Compo”s you can purchase for the D5 already I believe.

Pretty sure they are advertised as fitting D5's. Yep, here is the link Steel Wheels now available to Order for Discovery 5 (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/the-verandah/263454-steel-wheels-now-available-order-discovery-5-a.html)

thanks for that. But what ever 20" tyre am looking at all have low profile tyres. that is why wanted to go to 19". well if there is no option then have to go with the 20"

I think I should try and get 20" as going to TuffAnts 18" am not sure if its going to cause an issue with the warranty; just because landrover clearly says 18" is too small for the new disco.

That's what I did a while after placing the initial order and found there to be not much rubber available in 255/60R19, change the wheels from 19" to 20".

A friend did the Simpson Desert and Hay River track in a L494 Range Rover Sport fitted with 275/55/20 Pirelli ATRs. No rubbing and absolutely no problem. Speedo shows 102 kph when actually doing 100kph.
I believe that BFG ATs are available in that size. I think Graeme has some fitted.

I have BFG AT KO2 in LT275/55R20 (LI 115) on my L322 but will be trying the new Pirelli All Terrain Plus in the same size (LI 113) as soon as the KO2s are worn enough. The AT+ replaces the ATR and is designed to be better for off-road use than the ATR, although no doubt still not as tough as the BFGs.

I understand from GG that there is a different off set in rims between the 2 series. D4= +44mm, D5 =+33mm. I would have liked to have used my 18" Compomotive GOE rims from my D4 to go onto my D5, as $585 a corner for a rim plus a tyre not a cheap exercise.
