When i turn starter over with ignition off all is well . When I turn ignition on and press starter, is struggles to turn engine over . (80 inch, 2 litre)

Try running a jump lead from the battery earth to the starter motor body to elimate a bad earth . Also it could be too far advanced.

You always pull the coil lead out of dizzy cap then crank if it spins over ok its timing
