All,

What are you doing for aux power for external accessories? ie when I want to power my TJM compressor which is 30A or 360w.

The car's aux power sockets are limited to 120w.

Use the jump point under the bonnet? Doesn't sound like a good idea...........

I am thinking I need to run a fused lead from the battery to the jack storage and put an anderson plug on the end.

Cheers.

Without auxiliary battery a lead with Anderson plug is the best solution.

What would be the reason not to use the jump point under the bonnet? I was planning to fix an ARB compressor in the space behind the driver's side headlight, which is next to the jump point. I would have thought the capacity of the lead (I think there is a positive lead only) is sufficient for a compressor if it can be used to jump start the car?

I assumed you meant in the rear , jump point and a suitable earth should do the trick.

Good to know, yes there is a positive terminal under the bonnet and next to it an earth point.

Thanks

No reason other than LR love to complicate things and it would not surprise me to find some small print warning about using the jump start terminals for something other than jump starting. That said the manual is written in terms of the donor and the disabled vehicles and does not nominate which is which so you'd think there would not be any dramas connecting a 30A, 12 volt compressor.

I use the jump start terminals under the bonnet of my L405 for my 65A ARB twin compressor without any issues. They are just a direct connection to the battery terminals in the rear. Obviously, shorting the positive to earth is not a good idea and any permanent connection would need to be fused, just as they would be if connected to any other battery terminal.
