Sliders are on

Received my APT Rock sliders and compressor guard this week and managed to get the sliders bolted up this evening. I never get tired of looking at APT's quality. They look fantastic!

They look great and will function well. I makes the car looks like it means business. I have similar sliders and after a couple of slips on the shiny powder coat I stuck 25mm wide 3m grip tape I got at Bunnings along each step. Worth every cent and it sticks bloody well. What next? Did u get the lower control arm protectors. Wondering if they are worth the money (not that there expensive) . Cheers

I fitted pretty much the complete kit before our Canning trip in June.

The sliders have saved the side of the car at least three times and the front bash plate once. I have the APT sliders as well. Look great and easy fit and reliable delivery. BUT I hate trying to clean them. Mud gets on the top of the plate between the pipe and the body and it takes ages with a gurnie to get it all out. I know its there to stop sticks coming up between the slider external pipe work and the body but I wish something could be designed to do the same but was easier to clean.

Notwithstanding other considerations around GOE, on the GOE deluxe sliders the infill plates are actually welded to the plate so nowhere for anything to get stuck. Very easy to hose off.

Agree DAvid the plate is in line with the top of the pipe. APT its in line with the bottom. But as you say with APT they came 24hrs later. GOE.... Iwonder when they may have come.

I prefer the bottom plate position and would get it again regardless of supplier.
My primary interest is sliding smoothly over obstacles and the bottom plate is best for this.
The bottom plate is not ideal as a step but this is a secondary function for me.
Either location requires plenty of water flushing to clean because there's plenty of nooks and crannys to hold dirt and mud.

That grip tape works a treat on rear ladders, too.
