Hi team
I went to my local air con service guy today to have my Td5 re-gassed having suffered too long in 40+ heat (24 and raining today). However he found a hole in a pipe where it had been rubbing against the washer bottle.
You can see in the first photo where it has been rubbing (no idea why the photos have rotated 90o) and the other two show where each end terminates.

He said this would have to be replaced with a genuine part as he cant just replace the rubber part but also the metal pipes at the top of the middle photo which appear to be welded onto the mounting bracket.
I think this is the correct part number...
Air Conditioning - Condenser (Td5 AUS) - From XA159808 to 2A999999 - Find Land Rover parts at LR Workshop (https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams/land-rover-defender-cooling-heating/air-conditioning/air-conditioning-condenser#13)
Two questions;
is this part still available? Quick search of google doesn't find much :-(
How difficult would it be to install? If I can get the part he is happy to install and re-gas. He had a quick look and thought that maybe the radiator would need to be removed.
I have been going to this guy for years and he is very honest. Under charges for his labour compared to others, doesn't charge if he cant fix something...sort of bloke. But is he right in this situation?
Any help appreciated!
