My Indie replaces the coolant tank whenever they do a flush on D3/4.
Their reasoning is too many come back, tank fails,or the level float fails.
And a genuine one is not expensive.
I would just replace the complete coolant tank.

I used a non genuine when I did my coolant. The sensor didn’t work and the bleed screw weeps as you suggest above. I reused my original sensor and apply extra tightening to the screw and it’s ok. Another fail for non-genuine stuff however.

Did my coolant flush after 8 years on same fluid and tank. I did not change the tank. I've got no leaks at either bleed screw. I did take them out completely and clean them up before putting them back in, they get some scale and residue on them. Perhaps remove them when the engine is cold and clean/replace the o rings on the bleed screws before replacing the entire coolant tank.

Doesn't seem to be an O ring on the bleed screw i take it it should have one!

I think Eric might be mistaken. I’ve not seen an o-ring on the bleed screws and don’t believe it’s designed for one.
