Two types available, detailed info here https://remotekey.co.uk/land-rover/land-rover-discovery-ii-discovery-series-2-year-1999-to-2006/land-rover-discovery-2-key-type/ , the ECU type is irrelevant, the receiver is important cos the fob must match with that, though if you find a bargain for different frequency fobs than the receiver you can buy a proper receiver and change that too then you are OK.

My D2 is a 2000 and it is 433MHz.

If you have the old ones is it just the buttons that are broken. I had to replace the buttons on both of my remotes when I got the D2, and also bought a new one on ebay for around the $60-70 mark whilst waiting for the buttons to arrive and that was a mob here in Brisbane. You just need it programmed to the car then which if you have a diagnostic tool you should be able to do.

I had to buy 10 so I still have a few left.
