My left hand HID sometimes (often) sticks in the high beam position. Hit a bump or get out and give the headlight a thump and it drops back to low beam. Cycling it a few times usually drops it, but not great for oncoming traffic... Car spent the first decade of its life in the big city so I suspect the High beams weren't used much or at all.
Does anyone know if there's a quick/easy/ cheap fix? Can they be lubed or freed up? Mine are the non adaptive(cornering) if that makes a difference. I suspect the basic gubbins are the same as D3/4.

I’ve never heard of the issue and that might be the same for most which might explain why no one is chiming in?

It's a known issue. I can't find the AULRO thread but this Disco3 thread should help.
It's a fiddly fix that requires access inside the light housing.

Thanks Scott. Great find. I didn't think of checking out the UK forums, but somehow knew someone on here would be able to help :) I'll fire up the laptop a bit later and see if the pictures are visible (they are not on my phone). Even if not the description should be enough to follow. Looks (sounds) like a much better option than replacing the lamp unit...
