Hi all,
Ive just put a new master and slave cylinder in the 6x6, all gears bar 4th select fine, 4th won't select at all.
No weird noises or grinding, it just simply won't go into the 4th gear position?
All other gears working fine..any thoughts?

clutch drag and the syncros on the 4th selector are no longer doing the grip part of syncro magic so the block part is working baulking you until the align bit (which doesnt happen without grip) happens.

bet I can double shuffle it in

OR..

youve moved the box and the foam is blocking the shift lever.

The LT95 in my 101 won’t select 4th until it’s warmed up a bit - PO used gear oil in it so my guess is the oil pump gear is stripped so until things get a bit sloppy it’s a no go - or it has the issue BK stated, I’ve never got to the bottom of it but that’s the same, can’t shuffle it in with matching revs, etc until it wants to. I keep meaning to swap it out with the spare box I’ve got but I’ve learned to live with it and once I’ve driven it a few KM it’s fine for the rest of the day. 😁

Have you tried taking it for a drive until things warm up a bit?

Never tried to be honest but probably. Just put up with it - it’s been like that for 5 years and never really bothered me. 😁

I took it for a longer drive and managed to get it in, but when I tried again it was still as stubborn as before..Wont go in with motor off either.
Its a pain in the backside the way it is!

Most likely a selector adjustment problem.

Most likely a selector adjustment problem.
Im just wondering if its a collapsed bearing? 4th gear has had a slight bearing whine for some time?

4th gear is direct drive through to the transfercase. Normally the worst case is you loose all other gears due to them all using the layshaft but 4th should still be available. I lost a layshaft bearing on my LT77 and I got the 90 home using 4th gear combined with low and high range. It seems odd that 4th is the only gear you can't get, I would have to guess a problem with the shift linkage of some sort.
