I am going to put a steel rear bar on my Disco D2. I have been informed that the parking sensors will not work on a steel rear bar.
Is this true or a wife’s tale https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

If I have to remove the sensors for the steel rear bar where is the main parking sensor unit located https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ so I can remove that and sell it.

If I could keep them that would be great as they are useful for dogging trees when in reverse, not just the car park at the shops.

Any help would be appreciated.

we fitted a parking sensor to a front end loader that was working in a confined space they seemed to work fine used to bits of metal with holes for the sensors welded on top of the counter weight (one large hunk of metal)

I thought that they were ultrasonic so metal should make little difference https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

I noticed this in general chat:

The steel Kaymar rear bar can accommodate them.

Off topic slightly but can anybody recommend a good quality after market parking sensor kit.

I’d like to fit them front and rear on the RR.

Cheers.

Hi Tim,

Jaycar have a two channel model.

www.jaycar.com.au

I have the surface mounted model on the rear of the disco but they also have a flush mounted version.

Sensor (http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=LR8868&CATID=24&keywords=&SPECIAL=&form=CAT&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=669)

Autobarn carry a more sophisticated version. I think it is a four channel model.
