Hi All,
I have just replaced the clutch master cylinder on my son’s 2003 Defender 90 TD5. I am re-fitting the clutch pedal sensor switch after thoroughly cleaning and drying it and re-using the copper washers on the banjo after annealing them. I had forgotten to order replacements but hope the annealing will suffice.
I have read several dozen threads on the topic of Defender clutch bleeding (and I am sooo looking forward to that [bighmmm]) but none have mentioned any special handling of the clutch pedal sensor switch which to me appears to be a perfect air trap and would seem impossible to bleed. It is after all an upside down dead end pipe at the highest point. Is there any special trick such as squirting some clutch fluid into the sensor switch before fitting or will the normal clutch bleeding process take care of that…....assuming that it is a blue moon and I am holding my mouth the right way? Any tips or tricks are well appreciated.
