That looks like the genuine LR accessory. LR uses Warn winches in their kits.

That’s Chris’s car - know it well - genuine LR Winch tray fitted so as the other posters have noted its a factory fitted accessory and perfectly legal in Australia.

I didn't think the OEM winch and winch kit was approved by Land Rover for the TDV8 as it put the front axle over its weight limit (the TDV8 engine being heavier than the petrol) ... Happy to be corrected if wrong here...

Quite possible.

TdV8 Winch
"The cradle was OEM FR for the L322 early one a few tweaks and there you go
And yes LR said it could not be done (a bit of a red rag to an engineer that statement )"
No mention of front axle weight !

If the external winch mount was offered as an accessory in Australia for the L322 TDV8 by JLR Australia then it is legal and fully complies with our rules.
If it was not offered as an genuine accessory, even if it may be a genuine option offered by LR overseas, then it is not legal until engineered here.
So where did the mount come from??

The small print calls out the possible axle weight issue.

2nd Rower, I recall that now - Id forgotten, but thats right re front axle weight issue on the TDV8; Suspect Chis N ignored the weight issue and fitted it anyway.
cheers

Remove the winch, get your certificate without it, then refit the winch.
