Hi All,

I'm hoping somebody may be able to assist me with 10AS settings for my Defender TD5 2004. I have a Nanocom Evo which has enabled me to do some setting up of the alarm/immobiliser, which for quite a few years has been "switched off". (Australian Defenders normally, as supplied, seem to have the 10AS programmed as a CDL controller only). I have 3 key remotes which are all programmed in to the 10AS & operative.

As the vehicle is only used for normal on road purposes these days, I decided to activate the alarm/immobiliser, which was generally successful. I am finding that forum information, & also information on Blackbox Solutions for the 10AS is rather confusing, & I can't really find a way (if there is one?) to get the 10AS to do what I would ideally like.

This is:

1. Alarm/active immobiliser turned on when using the plip to lock.
2. Alarm/active immobiliser turned on when using the key alone to lock (no plip), & turned off when unlocked with the key alone.
3. Passive immobiliser not to activate when the vehicle is left unlocked for more than 30mins.
4. In an emergency I would like to be able to use the EKA procedure to start the engine if it is in an immobilised state.

I am aware that the ARM ON LOCK setting in the Nanocom controls whether the immobiliser activates, but it also seems to prevent the alarm as well, which is not what I want. It seems to be "all or nothing", & this is is what puzzles me.

The current Nanocom 10AS settings for my vehicle are:

Parameter VALUE
Time Error NONE
Comms SMART
Interior Light SMART
Welcome Light ENABLED
Arm/Disarm Flash HAZARD
Arm/Disarm Confirm HAZARD
Arm on Lock ENABLED
Resync on Arm ENABLED
Relock ENABLED
Mislock NOTED
Mislock Noise ENABLED
Resync on Lock ENABLED
Plip Immobilize ENABLED
Plip Relock DISABLED
Key Mobilize ENABLED
Passive Immobilize DISABLED
Key Disarm ENABLED
C.D.L. When ARM NONE
Flash on Alarm HAZARD
Alarm Sound PULSED
Time Sync. USED
Low Battery Error ENABLED
Battery Error USE COUNT
Tamper Warn YES
Cat. Overheat DISABLED
Mems Failure Indic. DISABLED
Vehicle DEFENDER
Immobilizer MEMS-TD5

These are in most respects, quite acceptable, but I still find that when the vehicle is left unlocked (using the plip) for 30 mins or so, the passive immobiliser will still turn on, in spite of being disabled in the 10AS settings, necessitating use of the plip to mobilise the engine.

Are you able to suggest any mods to the above settings to achieve the 1-4 requirements above? I am pretty sure the 10AS is working as designed, & I certainly have not had any starting problems at any stage.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Lionel
