Hi All,

I've got a low speed squeal coming from the brakes. Happens mostly when leaving a car park. Will squeal all the way until I reach the road. It then stops and no sound until the next leave the car park situation.

I've previously pulled pads out, cleaned the clips, greased and replaced. Didn't seem to help.

I've done a search and can see some references to this but couldn't see any thing about the cause or a fix.

Any help appreciated.

I’ve got it too. It’s the eBrake that needs adjusting.
Had it done at a workshop and it came back though..

Completely different occurrence and sound.

I do agree that regular servicing of the EPB is a good thing though [emoji106]

Thanks, but it's not the EPB. Unrelated to this problem, I adjusted the EPB last weekend.

I also get a small squeal just in the last 1m of braking at very low speed, most likely just pad material.
I put TRW pads on and they were supposed to be the ceramic versions but are actually a silica compound and chewed the rotor in less than 20k so will be up for new rotors when these rocks wear down instead of just the pads.

I went the Akebono and haven’t looked back having used many types

+1000 for Akebonos.

Squeal could be embedded pad material in the pad face itself. Had the same on my wife's Jeep. Took the pads out and filed the surface, squeal all gone.

Edit: just to clarify, it was a piece of sintered material about the size of a grain of rice. I noticed the rotor was getting a bright strip on it, same one as the 'squeally' corner. These are factory mopar pads with 57000km on them. Also no dust and very nice braking performance.

Interesting, will give it a try. Thanks!
