Hi everyone, I just purchased a 2011 Range Rover sport, great car but I just noticed that when I put my caravan on the back and hit reverse the sensors go on , I thought that was supposed to cancel the sensors when trailer is attached, apparently the previous owner had the round euro plug changed to the now 7 pin flat plug and on the other side has a Anderson plug which is great for me because that’s what my caravan is, but I still have the problem with the sensors going on in reverse, so any help would be much appreciated.

None original wiring in the car - the genuine trailer loom cancels the reverse sensors and does a few other things.

If its like the D3/4,and the van has LED lights,it will need resistors fitted,a search on here will reveal all.
Once the resistors are in the rear light circuit,usually using a switch,the vehicle will go into tow mode.

Its a LR part so anywhere that sells genuine LR parts (there is no AU version) - you need to check what is installed first - however you need to understand the LED trailer light issue as mentioned above - it could be as simple as that, so do a search on that first - there must be a thousand posts on this very common issue.

I be careful if you are going to follow that YouTube video. Those resistors might be OK for the indicators and brake lights due to only being powered up for a short time in normal driving. But a resistor like that on the tail lights would get VERY hot and probably melt your trailer plug, or worse catch fire.

I'd go for the bigger resistors you can get off ebay and mount them where they can dissipate the heat build up.

You only need them on the indicators in a D3/4.
