Now that i am back home and finished trips in Leaky i thought it was time to look at his coolant leak. 2.5l in 1300Km. looks to be coming from just under number 4 exhaust port, head gasket by the looks. Is this a place they normally leak? I guess a retension won't fix it. [bighmmm]

You sure? TD5s usually let you know if you have HG problems...[bigwhistle]
Your pic doesn't show the entire thing. That housing contains the oil cooler. The cooler is surrounded by, well, coolant. They usually cause an oil in the coolant issue, but maybe in your case the actual housing may be leaking. There are gaskets, and the housing could corrode if the car hasn't had proper coolant in it at some point. Might be worth a look before tackling a HG.
If it is this, change the cooler while it's out.

PS: I think the housings changed a little over the journey, but the principle is the same.

Not the greatest vid, but you'll get the idea I think, in the first 30 secs.

You'll need to pull the exhaust manifold, it is the screw in core plug that is leaking, not the head gasket.
It's worth getting the manifold machined back to flat while it's off, also replace the studs and gasket.
Cheers

Yep, that too. I had forgotten that one. As for the manifold, I upgraded the studs at 4 and 5 to M10 I think it was. It had snapped three of them anyway, so why not?

I did the oil cooler a couple of years for a leak at the front, it's not leaking from there it's coming from above. I'll have to pull the manifold off to get a better look. The manifold has been machined not long ago but do need to upsize the studs. I hope it's the plug, do they come out easy or do i need to put a blow torch on to heat it up?
