Hi, my actuator has failed so I need a new one. I know the part umber is FUG500010 It seems they range from $50 to a whole lot more. What is a good reliable brand/option?
Thanks

Any one of these from a Ford dealer will also work.

As well, consider fitting an internal release mechanism. Google Land Rover Passion in Italy. I've fitted their kit. It arrived promptly, the fitting instructions are excellent and is a doddle to fit.
The benefit of having the internal release is because the end of the actuating cable can break at the 90 deg bend, so having the internal cable/release allows entry.
I got my actuator from an E-bay place in the UK and it is good, however it took 2 months to arrive. Suggest go local.

Here is how to get the failed one to open the tailgate...How to Open Land Rover Discovery 3 4 Locked Tailgate With Failed Actuator From Inside - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS-Yxnh98uA) by PowerfulUK. That is if running the engine, so you have good voltage and the pressing both the lock/unlock internal buttons at the same time trick doesn't work.
Alternatively, if the plastic bit on the actuator breaks LR3 LAND ROVER TAIL GATE WONT OPEN I SHOW YOU HOW TO OPEN WHEN IT IS CLOSED - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo_bw0_qzU8)

I second the Land Rover Passion kit. When I crashed and rolled my Disco3, we crawled out via the rear widow which I opened via the passion handle from inside the car!
