Hydraulic suspension pump (MG)

Good morning,

My son has recently bought himself a project car, I think its about 2000 model MG centre engine coupe
which has hydraulic suspension like the Minis and Austin1800. Which has collapsed.

Does any one on the forum know where we may hire a pump and get this service provided.
The car is not drivable at this stage, basically sitting on the ground.(Albion, Brisbane.)

The Minis/1800/1100 only used a mixture of water, anti freeze (glycol) and a smidgen of meths pressurised to, from memory, about 220psi. I reckon an MY2000 MG would have more sophisticated mixture and use a different style of pressure/air evacuation pump? Also possibly a higher pressure? [bigwhistle]

MR Auto did a lot of work on Minis back in the day,so may be helpfull.

That is where the M came from in their name,Mini /Rover.

The system in the MG F etc is not the same as the old 1100 etc - it is an updated (different) system as fitted to the Austin, MG Maestro of the 90s.

The last of the MG Fs (TFs?) had coil springs.

Always very good technical support. You can swap out the gas suspension for the later coil units.
