Oil leaking from D3 Vacuum Pump drops a little bit onto the exhaust pipe[bigsad] Noted this almost immediately the replacement engine was installed for me. They looked and it was bounced off. Now well after the intstall and warranty period the issue has been clarified as my Vacuum Pump

Part might be a few K? Ebay puts it at below $700???? (LAND ROVER DISCOVERY IV L319 Vacuum Pump SQJ500082 New Genuine (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/264816459876?chn=ps&_ul=AU&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A13REj-i9GTQ-LPBIfG7bktg7&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-139619-5960-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=264816459876&targetid=1740279244009&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9071363&poi=&campaignid=18277121424&mkgroupid=142426603833&rlsatarget=pla-1740279244009&abcId=9301724&merchantid=494516879&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrvX07b79_gIVuIJLBR2iugwAEAQYAiAB EgJMYvD_BwE))

Installation is apparently difficult! Service gent suggested 2k ish giving 4 to 6,000 to repair the small oil leak.

Not selling it with out either fixing or at least informing the people who might like it.

Has anyone successfully replaced the Vacuum Pump themselves or have any tips? I will chat to the nice people who installed the new engine for me before I dive in to this to far[bigrolf]

Probably just the camshaft oil seal, pump needs to come of to fix that and doesn't look to hard to remove.
If it is the pump i would be buying from the UK.

That pump you linked is the electric pump from the petrol engines. It sits on a mount behind the coolant reservoir and in front of the battery. If you have one of those I hope it isn't leaking oil else there is something very wrong somewhere [bighmmm]

For the 2.7, there is basically no room as the pump and seal are right at the back of the engine against the firewall. It isn't technically difficult, but physically it is. Our pump leaks as well, but we have the joy of the oil moving through the brake lines to the booster where it enjoys wrecking the diaphragm.

Yes that was causing my leak and was replaced when the timing belts were done. A little while after the oil pump [bigsad]
