ThanksI have no idea what it means, but I believe military spec units had some features missing/changed.
What are the issues with the vehicle?

While driving, engine stops suddenly without any warning complete loss of power only "check engine" light comes on. Then I can start it it will run for couple of minutes then it happens again. If I leave the car sit for longer it's fine again until I run it for 30-40 min sometimes longer.

The capacitors can fail in the ECU which can cause the issues you mention, they will probably be worse when hot.
But you need to check for faults first before proceding further.

That's what I was thinking but none of the scan tools I used would work. I used Toyota Techstrem which has ODB/2 ,generic BOSCH OBD2 scanner and G scan but nothing would work. Reading these forums It looks like you need specific scan tool for Landy. I'm i right?

Yes, you will need something like a Nanocom or Hawkeye as the Td5 ECU is not 100% ODB2 compliant.

sounds like the age old oil in the harness plug.
unplug and have a look, clean as needed. the oil can ingress all the way into the ecu

No oil in the harness plug. Could failed MAIN relay or Inertia switch cause engine shutting down suddenly while driving?
btw there are 2 relays which one is MAIN?186159

I have had this problem with my TD5. The car would shut down and the temperature guage would go to full.
It wasn't actually the relay which failed but the connectors needed a bit of a recrimp to make them tighter.

I also have an ex defence TD5 with the same marking on tie ECU….mine was a dog to drive but never cut out.
I now have a NNN ECU.
Oh if you ever go down the NNN route you need the tuner to remove the AS10 reference in the tune otherwise she’ll only run for a few seconds then shutdown.
shack knows all about it know [emoji6]
Edit**** just noticed the date of the date of the post, did you resolve the issue??
