I dunno if they’re any good, but Aldi, in Victoria at least, have a cutter on sale June 29. $299.

I wonder if/for how long consumables will be available.

My cheap chinese plasma cutter has a plethora of consumables available on ebay and aliexpress. When it arrived with some **** random handpiece that used hard to find bits I just replaced the cable and handpiece with a generic E-bay special and it's been apples since. The expensive bit is the inverter, and at least with Aldi you get a year warranty. Mine came with a bench warranty. The warranty expired when it left the assemblers bench. 12 years later it still works, and I still have a small pile of consumables thanks to cheap chinese manufacturers.

Just do it!

Have to say I have a couple of Aldi things. One beauty is a petrol powered pressure washer with a Chonda engine. It's brilliant, and everything like nozzles and handpieces are available all over, not that I've needed any apart from a nozzle that I hadn't secured properly. No idea where that went. But I have bought accessories, like a drain snake, from one of the red tool stores that fit fine.

Aldi stuff is usually pretty good, says me, touching wood for my washing machine.

Three years for this one. And it'll cut up to 12mm, which makes it overkill for what I want it for..

Only a 12 month warranty. I have a little Rossi stick welder and it's fine but quality isn't great overall.

Thing about Aldi, you don't like it you take it back, no questions asked.

We really need a sticky thread about Aldi tools. Some of their tools and consumables are great and some are carp. The duds usually come in elaborate little wooden boxes.

They have a $30 spray gun on sale this weekend, I've had one for a few years and it's brilliant. A lot of professional house painters around here have more than one and use no other brand now.

Bears an uncanny resemblance to a Star brand one. I paid over $100 for one of those 40 years ago to spray surfboards. The Aldi one is much superior.

cheers, David L
