Hello fellow Perentie owners. My truck has just developed a problem where when I’m driving the transfer case pops out of high range. I’ve done a bit of a search as to what the issue could be which leads me to a question regarding the adjustment of the fork as per the manual. One thing I noticed is there is a rather large gap between the size of the fork and the slot in the selector. I checked out the fork as a replacement part and it states that it has a rubber “ball” on it which on my fork in the car is non existent. If I purchase the replacement fork do you think that that would take up any free play in the selector resulting in staying in gear?
When it first happened I held the shift lever all the way back to get home, attempted to adjust and took it for a test drive which was unsuccessful and have not driven it as I don’t really want to stuff it completely and have to have the intermediate cluster rebuilt just yet.
Thanks. Paul.
