Hi.

Currently doing a couple things on a 2.7 Discovery 4.

It has always double beeped on lock and unlock.

Everything seems to lock and unlock correctly though.

No faults that I can see in any related ECU's.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to track down what's causing it?

I'm guessing a lock related sensor isn't supplying the correct info to the bcu.

There is a CCF configuration for arm/disarm chirp. In the Body Control Module.

Is it possible someone has fiddled with a GAP tool or similar previously?

Usally a bonnet closure sensor has failedWould that normally trigger a "bonnet open" warning on the dash?

Is it possible someone has fiddled with a GAP tool or similar previously? This is possible but I think unlikely.

I will investigate for sure though.

I'm just waiting to sort some diag tool accounts to be sorted before I can pursue.

Doesn't on a D2, yours may differ.

This is possible but I think unlikely.

Agree, however the open bonnet switch or similar responses here should prevent you from locking. If it beeps but locks, i still suspect the 'chirp' setting

When mine double beeps on trying to lock it due to door or bonnet open it won’t lock

I think it's a setting in the CCF.

I've checked the "as built" ccf, under safety/security and locking, and "vehicle horn on alarm enable" is set to yes.

It says 63% of cars were set to yes from factory.

If that is true, I'm guessing a lot of dealers turned it off when new.

I can't currently alter the CCF to test.

Also my post title is incorrect, the horn beeps once on lock, twice on unlock.

I'll be able to verify later.

It was indeed the chirp setting.

Thanks Veebs.

It was turned on in "as built" by the look of it.

On the D4 beep once on lock and twice on unlock is correct. If a lat h sensor is faulty, it won't lock the car and double beeps.
