I'm probably even dumber than I thought, but for the life of me I cant find where from/get an amps readout on my G3 Gap Tool for the D4 - would be great to have the info while cruising, pulling the van etc.
If no joy here, I guess I'll have to pester Patrick again.

The D4 itself does not provide real-time amperage readings on the G3 Gap Tool. You will most likely need an external meter or monitor connected to the system if you want to get real-time amperage data while driving.

Can't remember exactly where they are found (I'm not home at the moment) but you can certainly get amperage readings off the GAP tool from a D4 (SDV6) while driving.
Here is what I monitor when driving.
Can't remember exactly, but if you can't see amperage reading on your GAP tool then you may need to ask GAP to unlock some advanced functionality for your GAP tool to see all the items which can be monitored.

Turns out the GapTool I got with the car was a G2 BT, not a G3 BT as always thought. I've just acquired a G3 BT (still trying to get it connected) after communicating with Patrick in Canada and learning that viewing the amp function info is in a different section (now where is that piece of paper I wrote it on - just not my day).

Re accessing Amps reading for display
Found it - Per Patrick - It’s not in the BCM, it’s in the GWM, Gateway Module.

I need to get back to Patrick for clarification/confirmation. On reading the manual some more, it appears the Gateway Module is only applicable from 2017?
