Hi guy's
Can someone help with a problem I have with my Rave cd.
I have installed it but know it comes up with Runtime support not installed.
Anyone know what that means.
It worked once before but I got a virus and had to have the computer cleaned.:confused:

It sounds like you might need to install/reinstall Java to get the cd to work.
Google "Sun Java" you will find it easy.
Try it anyway, I can't remember if the Rave CD uses Java of just HTML.

On mine, one cannot open the PDFs with a normal version of Acrobat.

Oh, forget the comment about Java then.
If it's Acrobat related, would it not just be a case of re-installing Acrobat.
Or even trying a newer version that is know to be compatible

I would uninstall Acrobat Reader and then Download (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html) and install Acrobat Reader Again
Its a hefty download, hope you aren't on dial up?

Don't bother downloading Acrobat. It won't help. Normal versions of Acrobat won't open the RAVE files.
Reinstall from the RAVE CD.

Ron is correct. The Rave application runs off the CD. It uses Acrobat V4.0 (current downloadable Reader version is now 7).
You only need a shortcut to the Rave.exe file on the CD and it should be sweet. It also works on my laptop if I go to the CD and double click on 'Rave.exe' or 'Tdata.exe'.

I copied all the files off the cd and into a folder in my documents but it still opens in Acrobat V4 not in V7 that i have on my pc so it may be the way its programmed.

Yes, it will always open the version of Acrobat with which it is installed (earlier RAVE CDs used Acrobat 3)

The RAVE CD's require the multiuser plugin for Acrobat. This was changed in later Acrobat versions (basically it was dropped) after v4 and so it won't work with them.
You should be able to get the CD (or the folder with the files from the CD) to launch Acrobat 4, from the directory. Don't try and open the PDF's or other files, use the RAVE.EXE executable to launch the CD.
E.g. My short cut points to "B:\Land Rover CD's\Rave CD2\RAVE.exe" (B: is a network drive)
There is no conflict in having multiple versions of Adobe Acrobate installed, you can only one run version at a time. So as long as another version of acrobat on your PC isn't running its all happy. This can happen from opening a PDF in a web page from the browser. In which case (for windows) open Task Manager and stop the process AcroRd32.exe and then try the RAVE CD.
