Hi All
I was looking under the Rangie and noticed an empty bolt hole.
I guess it should have a bolt but haven't noticed it empty before.
Maybe it worked loose?
What is the bolt hole for?
Yes I know a bolt ;) but a bleed/drain hole or what?
In case the pic isnt clear it's just behind the sump.

Steve see the square bolt next and slightly above your hole, thats what u unscrew to fit into your hole if you are doing lots of water crossings to stop the water getting in to the clutch and slipping. But as toombraider has said leave it open.

They do say you learn some thing new every day !
So if you were doing a deep water crossing you would block up the hole or not?
Not that I really intend to as I have no snorkel and the Lucas electrics are a bit dodgy at the best of times!
Or is this just something you would do for LOTS of deep wading and muddy stuff, like all day.

No, If you are going to do a water crossing, block the hole.

Check your LR tool kit, there should be a couple of wading plugs in there.
