They pull very well, just try and get the weight distribution in the van as even as possible (not nose or tail heavy)
It all helps

double check the cooler before you get serious about doing it tho... you will cook the oil if you make full use of what its capable of.

I dont have any problems towing my Dads old 23 foot van, it takes a little while to get it up to 110km/h and it will work it hard keeping it at this speed on the hills.
But if you take a more leisurely pace its far better, not only for the Disco and occupants but also for your wallet (fuel disappears at an alarming rate)

You should have both engine oil, and transmission fluid coolers, they are part of the radiator

correct, you should have all the above, but ensure they are clean both externally and capable of supporting good flow, its an often overlooked part of servicing.

Hate to tell you, but hilux's are barely capable of pulling themselves let alone a caravan:twisted:, You wont have a drama in the Disco as long as all cooling systems are cleaned out:cool:

It is best if towing heavy loads with an automatic transmission is to have an external oil cooler. The bigger the better. The cooler the oil the longer it will last and transmission of cause.
